Super surprised to find Iraqi tea in a rural Northland town. Awesome kebab, coffee, tea and baklava. Owner is absolutely lovely.

My favourite place now! Lovely service, large spacious area, charming interior and wonderful views. My Turkish Coffee came with Turkish delight squares, and a refill. The brewer coffee comes with refills also. Warning Turkish coffee is black, it was described as being strong, I found it more sweet than strong.

We visited on a rainy, windy day in the middle of Cyclone Tam, and were met with warm vibes, great conversations and incredible food and drinks. The levant shire scones! a must try. Everything is tasteful and homely, and we highly recommend. Thanks again from the two stranded frenchies

The most amazing place. Everyone needs to try Ollie’s! Has such a beautiful outlook over farmland. My partner and I (& now baby) travel over from Mangawhai as it’s the best food in the area. We get a mezze platter that means you get to try a bit of everything and tea - most delicious tea I’ve had! We normally finish it off with some baclava - SO good. You can get refills on your tea and extra pitas so you never leave hungry or unsatisfied. The owner is the best as well love chatting to her. She sells lots of yummy groceries as well, next time you need a gift for someone come here. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place to visit!

Second visit here. Scones w jam & cream but with a Levantine twist. Two kinds of jam: fig & rose (yum) and real cream. The scones were perfect. We opted for Turkish coffee, which comes w Turkish delight. All excellent. There's a screened balcony at the back which they open up the screens of in warm weather. When it's open there is a breeze through so we were okay to remove masks.

Stopped in desperate to find something decent to eat in a little rural NZ town. What an amazing experience, warm welcome, delicious food, wholesome caring service. All the food was made with love and a lot homemade. Delicious flavours, and catered to my vegetarian requests. Hands down the best meal you will get in the area, with a relaxing environment to enjoy it in. Hidden gem

Absolutely enchanted by this place. Went with a friend who grew up in the Middle East, so has a pretty high bar for what counts as that kind of cuisine in the West. Our coffees, teas and food all pressed the nostalgia buttons pretty hard for them though, so that bar was well and truly cleared! For my own part, it was all delicious too, and with gorgeous views from the dining area to boot. The owner was super, super friendly as well. Maungaturoto is lucky to have her and have Ollies. Definitely worth a few minutes' detour off SH1 if you're passing by.
